Colin Cockram
Having served 16 years in the army Colin re-educated during the early 1990’s including two years at the Camborne School of Mines reading Mineral Surveying and Resource Management achieving a first class Diploma (Dip CSM). This allowed direct entry to the second year at The University of the West of England, Bristol reading Valuation and Estate Management. Training and experience was gained with Haarer Goss Chartered Surveyors and Exeter City Council Estates Department qualifying as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in June 2003. After which, Colin worked for Shepherd Chartered Surveyors specialising as a Residential Chartered Surveyor. Colin set-up the company in May 2009 and covers the complete range of services. -
Bob Hawthorne
Bob left school at 16 to join the Royal Air Force and served as an aircraft flight engineer. After 10 years service he left to go to university to study Building Surveying. Two years post graduation experience was gained working for the Government’s property division before moving into private practice in 1986. He became a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 1987 and by working with a number of small, medium and large sized companies Bob built up a wealth of experience before joining Halifax Bank in 1992 as a residential surveyor and Asset Manager. Bob left Halifax (by then Lloyds Banking Group) in 2009 and joined Colin Cockram in 2010 bringing with him years of experience in private residential property surveying.

Simon Buchanan
Joining our team in December 2010, Simon graduated from the University of Plymouth in 2008 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Building Surveying & the Environment. Whilst studying he used his knowledge gained to work on many refurbishment and residential development projects. After graduating Simon went on to running his own successful property development business in the Torbay area. Simon is passionate about his role and is working towards RICS accreditation; he strives to provide the very best service to our clients. -
Kylie
Kylie became part of our team in June 2011 as a Personal Assistant. Having recently made the move to Cornwall from Cambridgeshire with her Partner, Kylie was previously employed as a Local Government Customer Service Advisor. Kylie brings with her a wealth of customer service and administrative experience and is already enhancing the smooth running of the business and customer experience. Kylie has recently enrolled on a modern apprenticeship scheme through Truro College to train initially in bookkeeping and later as an accountant.

Marilyn
Marilyn is part of our administration team and is home based in Essex where she is responsible for much of the typing. She has five years experience in the field of surveying and a previous 12 years secretarial experience while working in the City of London in the insurance, finance and legal sectors.
